voix in the Dark’s “New Body” begins modestly with a dreamy synth pattern that immediately dives headfirst into a memorable bassline. This song was made for dancing. Lyrically simplistic, “New Body” speaks of shedding old skin for a much needed rebirth. The second track, “Post-Operative Complications”, continues with voix’s curated blend of modulated techno. The percussion breakdown is very reminiscent of the industrial metal act Fear Factory. Long live the mall goth years.
